Hydromedia™ is a porous concrete —with a low fine aggregate content— which has high permeability and drainage capacity. It is fabricated with aggregates between 4 and 12 mm and has a void content of 20-25% that results in a permeability of up to 800 l/min/m². Hydromedia™ has a fluid consistency and is workable for over 20 minutes. It can be installed over any type of granular sub-base extended over the ground. It offers a flexural strength of 1-2 N/mm² and compression strength of 10-15 N/mm².
Its great drainage capacity prevents the formation of puddles and ice patches during cold weather on exterior pavement, permitting the infiltration of rainwater into the ground or its recovery and later reuse.
It can be applied to pedestrian paths, patios and terraces, green roofs, accessible roofs, sports fields, pool areas and storm water recovery and infiltration systems. It is available in a wide range of colours.
Hydromedia™ infrastructures is developed to withstand the traffic of light vehicles (up to3,500 kg) suitable for pavements transit road as parking, laundry areas of vehicles or crosswalks , to manage the water consumed or rainwater ensuring their reintegration into the natural cycle, acting as a system of natural recharge of aquifers, or reuse for secondary uses.
