Betão e Taipa is a company specializing in the construction and renovation of buildings based on traditional construction techniques, among which we are highlighting: rammed earth, adobe and compressed earth blocks (CEB). All of these techniques are interesting for bioclimatic architecture due to their low environmental impact, high thermal mass and capacity for regulating environmental humidity, thus improving comfort conditions. These materials are employed as non-bearing walls in conventional structures, like concrete or masonry.
The company offers a complete range of services for renovation projects, from the diagnosis of pathologies and soil particle size analysis, to actual construction. They also offer other traditional construction methods, like brick or stone masonry and thatched roofs.
