The QuadroTherm radiant wall heating system takes advantage of the high thermal inertia of Quadro silico-calcareous blocks. It consists of water pipes (the RauTherm system by Rehau) that run through perforations in the blocks forming the wall. The installation slowly and continuously heats the surface of exterior walls or partitions. Heat is transmitted radiantly, so that ambient temperatures can be reduced without affecting comfort levels, producing an energy savings of 18% for every 3º C less in ambient temperature. In addition to use with conventional heating systems, QuadroTherm can be combined with geothermal and solar systems. Reversible heat pump technology allows summer use for cooling by introducing cold water in the pipes.
