Conluto® has various products made with clay, including the following:
-Rammed Earth Mix, material composed of clay-rich earth with a bonding strength greater than 80 g/cm², and with mineral additives such as coarse sand and gravel. It can be ordered also with colored additives. The mix is used in mud form when making walls: it is poured into a formwork in 10-15 cm layers and compacted by hand-held tampering equipment or using a mechanically-driven piston. Once compacted, the wall maintains its form and the formwork can be removed, allowing the wall to dry and harden. A 24 cm thick wall dries in 2 to 4 months.
-Self-leveling Rammed Earth Screed for making rammed earth floors comes in two sizes of grain: coarse (up to 16 mm) for the base layer, which should be at least 7 cm thick, and fine (up to 8 mm), for the 4 cm finish layer, which is smoothed with a trowel. After drying, it should be oiled for protection.
Conluto also makes clay-rich earth mixtures for plastering, light and heavy adobe bricks and clay mortars.
